[viff-devel] INSTALLING VIFF CORRECTLY WITH LATEST PYTHON AND LIBRARIES

Please what are the library files needed to correctly install VIFF with
Python 2.7 or higher? I installed VIFF with python 2.7 and installed
Twisted for Python 2.5 but was always getting error:
*** bad data from player 1: unpack requires a string argument of length 5
*** aborting!
*** all protocols disconnected
Unhandled error:
Failure: twisted.internet.error. Connection lost. Connection to the other
side was lost in a non-clean fashion.

What can I do to fix these errors? I need a quick reply to this mail.

Hi John,

Have you installed the latest version (viff-tip)? It includes some fixes
for newer versions of Twisted. Otherwise I would advise you to install
an older version of Twisted. VIFF was originally developed with Twisted
8, but the there was a fix two years ago tested with Twisted 11. See the
mailing list archive for the discussion on it.

What version of twisted works well with python 2.7? Better still where can
I get such information? The version of Twisted used in the millionaires.py
example doesn't seem to be working with the python 2.7 on my 64-bit windows
7 laptop.
